Clausalও Phrasal Sentence চেনার উপায়
Clausal Sentence এ প্রথমে Subject থাকবে
এরপর verb থাকবে এবং Obj থাকলেও হবে, না থাকলেও হবে
Sub +Verb +Obj
Phrasal Sentence এ sub, verb, obj থাকেনা
লক্ষ করো,
He
reads more so that he can pass.
এখানে
ফাকা ঘরের পরে sub, verb, obj আছে কাজেই এটি Clausal Sentence
He
reads more for pass in the exam.
এখানে
ফাকা ঘরের পরে sub, verb, obj কিছুই নেই কাজেই এটি Phrasal Sentence
বিঃদ্রঃ
পরীক্ষায় এভাবে ফাকা ঘরের পরের অংশটা Clausal Sentence নাকি Phrasal
Sentence তা চিনে সেই অনুযায়ী Clausal connector’s অথবা Phrasal connector’s বসাতে
হবে।

Type – 1
Co-relative connector’s যেগুলো কোনো
Sentence এ থাকলে অর্থ জানার কোনো প্রয়োজন নেই। নিম্নের Connectors গুলো কোনো বাক্যে
থাকলে পরের অংশটি বসাতে হবে;
Both…….and
Not only……but also
as……as
so……as
so……that
not less……than
no sooner had……than
scarcely/barely/hardly……when
either…..or
neither……nor
Example,
She both plays the piano and
sings.
she plays both the piano and
the guitar.
I neither smoke nor

একটা অংশ দেয়া থাকলে পরের অংশটি দিতে
হবে।
Type – 2
Clausal Sentence হলে এবং উদ্দেশ্য প্রকাশ
করলে à So
that, That, In order that যেকোনো
একটি বসালেই হবে।
He
reads more so that he can pass.
এখানে,
“সে বেশি বেশি পড়লে তবেই পাস করবে” বাক্যটিতে পড়ার উদ্দেশ্য হলো পাস করা, এখানে উদ্দেশ্য
বোঝাচ্ছে। এবং এটি Clausal Sentence কাজেই এটাতে So that, That, In order that যেকোনো
একটি বসালেই হবে।
Phrasal Sentence হলে এবং উদ্দেশ্য প্রকাশ
করলে à In
order to, with a view to, to, owing to, for

“সে বেশি বেশি পড়ে পরীক্ষায় পাস করতে” বাক্যটিতে পড়ার উদ্দেশ্য হলো পরীক্ষায় পাস করা,
এখানে উদ্দেশ্য বোঝাচ্ছে। এবং এটি Phrasal Sentence কাজেই এটাতে In order to, With
a view to, to, owing to, for যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।

– 3
Clausal Sentence হলে
এবং কারণ বোঝাতে à
Because, As, since যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।
He
could not attend the meeting because he was ill.
এখানে,
“সে অসুস্থ থাকার কারণে মিটিং এ যুক্ত হতে পারেনি” বাক্যটিতে মিটিং এ যোগ দিতে না পারার
কারণ হলো অসুস্থতা (illness) এবং এটি Clausal Sentence কাজেই এটাতে Because, As, Since যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।

কারণ হলো অসুস্থতা (illness) এখানে কারণ বোঝাচ্ছে এবং এটি Phrasal Sentence কাজেই এটাতে
Because of, on account of, by dint of
যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।

– 4
Clausal Sentence হলে এবং ফলাফল প্রকাশ
করা বোঝাতে à As a
result, as a consequence, the result যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।
He worked hard as a result,
he succeeded.
এখানে,
“সে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করেছিলো, এর ফলে সে সফল হয়েছিলো” বাক্যটিতে সে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করায়
সে সফল হয়েছে এবং এটি Clausal কাজেই এটাতে As
a result, as a consequence, the result যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।
Phrasal Sentence হলে এবং ফলাফল প্রকাশ
করা বোঝাতে à As a
result of, as a consequence of, the result of যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।

“সে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করেছে, এবং তার কঠোর পরিশ্রমের ফলস্বরূপ সে সফল হয়েছে” বাক্যটিতে
সে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করায় সে সফল হয়েছে এবং এটি Phrasal Sentence কারণ এখানে his hard
work হলো Phrasal কাজেই এটাতে As a result
of, as a consequence of, the result of যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।

Clausal Connectors হলে এবং বিপরীত অর্থ
প্রকাশ করা বোঝাতে à Though,
Although, On the other hand, on the contrary বসাতে হবে।
He
came here though he was ill.
এখানে,
“সে তার অসুস্থতা সত্ত্বেও সে এখানে এসেছে” বাক্যটিতে যদিও সে অসুস্থ ছিলো তবুও সে
এখানে এসেছে মানে বিপরীতেও সে এসেছে এবং এটি Clausal কাজেই এটাতে Though, Although, On the other hand, on the
contrary যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।
Phrasal Connectors হলে এবং বিপরীত অর্থ
প্রকাশ করা বোঝাতে à In
spite of বসাতে হবে।
He
came here in spite of his illness.
এখানে,
“সে তার অসুস্থতা সত্ত্বেও এখানে এসেছে” বাক্যটিতে সে অসুস্থ ছিলো তার পরেও মানে বিপরীতেও
সে এসেছে এবং এটি Phrasal কারণ এখানে his illness হলো Phrasal কাজেই এটাতে In spite of বসাতে হবে।

এখানে
আগে ভালো দিক পরে মন্দ, মানে আগের কথা এক পরে আরেক। এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে Though, Although, On the other hand, on the
contrary যেকোনো একটি সরাসরি বসাতে পারো।
Type
– 6
Clausal Connectors হলে এবং ধারাবাহিকতা
বোঝাতে à At
first/In the beginning/firstly, secondly, thirdly, fourthly, finally/ in the
conclusion/at last, in the end বসাতে হবে।
At first, I started reading the book because I wanted to know more
about its story.
এখানে, “প্রথমে, আমি বইটি পড়তে শুরু
করলাম, কারণ আমি এর গল্প সম্পর্কে জানতে চেয়েছিলাম।” বাক্যটিতে সে বই পড়া শুরু
করেছে কাজেই এটি ধারাবাহিকতাকে বুঝায় এবং এটি Clausal কাজেই এটাতে At first/In the beginning/firstly,
secondly, thirdly, fourthly, finaly/ in the conclusion/at last, in the end যেকোনো
একটি বসালেই হবে।
Phrasal Connectors হলে এবং ধারাবাহিকতা
বোঝাতে à At
first, second, third, final ব্যবহার করা যাবে।
At first, I decided to give up on my old habits.
এখানে, “প্রথমে, আমি আমার পুরনো
অভ্যাসগুলো ত্যাগ করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিলাম।” বাক্যটিতে ধারাবাহিকতা বোঝাচ্ছে এবং এটি
Phrasal কারণ এখানে his illness হলো Phrasal কাজেই এটাতে At first, second, third, final বসাতে হবে।

– 7
Clausal Connectors হলে এবং সমজাতীয় কোনো
বিষয় বলতে (ধারাবাহিকতার সাথে কিছুটা মিল রয়েছে) à and, also, in addition, besides যেকোনো
একটি বসাতে হবে। (প্রচুর আসে পরীক্ষায়)
Tress
give us oxygen and they give us shelter.
এখানে,
“গাছ আমাদের অক্সিজেন দেয় এবং তারা আমাদের আশ্রয় দেয়” গাছ আমাদের অক্সিজেন দেয় সেই
সাথে আশ্রয়ও দেয়, এখানে অক্সিজেন এবং আশ্রয় (Shelter) দুটিই গাছ দেয় এবং এটি
Clausal কাজেই এটাতে and, also, in
addition, besides যেকোনো একটি বসালেই হবে।
Phrasal Connectors হলে এবং সমজাতীয় কোনো
বিষয় বলতে (ধারাবাহিকতার সাথে কিছুটা মিল রয়েছে) à and, as well as, along with যেকোনো
একটি বসাতে হবে। (প্রচুর আসে পরীক্ষায়)
Rahim
along with his brother came here.

এখানে
প্রথম বাক্যে, “রহিম তার ভাইয়ের সাথে এখানে এসেছে” বাক্যটিতে রহিম এবং তার ভাই দুইজনেই
এখানে এসেছে কাজেই এর মাঝে আমরা and, as
well as, along with যেকোনো একটি বসাতে পারি। এবং সেই সাথে দ্বিতীয় বাক্যটিতে,
আমি কলম এবং পেন্সিল দুটিই কিনতে চাই, এবং এটি Clausal কাজেই এটাতেও and, as well as, along with যেকোনো একটি
বসাতে পারি।
Type
– 8
Clausal Connectors হলে এবং শর্ত বোঝালে
à it,
unless, till (শর্ত জুড়ে দিলে)
You won’t succeed unless you put in the effort.
এখানে “আপনি যদি পরিশ্রম না করেন,
তবে আপনি সফল হবেন না।” বাক্যটিতে শর্ত বোঝাচ্ছে, কারণ সফল হতে গেলে পরিশ্রম
করতে হবে, এবং এটি একটি Clausal Sentence কাজেই এখানে it, unless, till, unless
যেকোনো একটা বসালেই হবে।
শর্ত যেসকল বাক্যে বোঝায়, সেই বাক্যগুলো
Phrasal হয় না।

ব্যাক্তি/বস্তুর নাম উল্লেখ রয়েছে এরপর
ফাঁকা ঘর থাকলে à
ব্যাক্তিবাচক
Noun এরপর গ্যাপ থাকলে – Who/that
The teacher who teaches math is very kind.
I met a girl who plays the piano beautifully.
এখানে প্রথম বাক্যে teacher একটা noun এবং
দ্বিতীয বাক্যে girl একটা noun এবং এগুলো ব্যাক্তিবাচক নাম এরপরেই ফাকা ঘর রয়েছে
কাজেই এখানে Who/that যেকোনো একটা বসবে।
বস্তুবাচক
(Noun) এর পর গ্যাপ থাকলে – which/that
The book which you gave me is fascinating.
I love reading books which take me to different worlds.
I bought a car that is very fuel-efficient.
এখানে প্রথম বাক্যে book একটা noun এবং দ্বিতীয বাক্যে car একটা noun এবং এগুলো বস্তুবাচক নাম এরপরেই ফাকা ঘর
রয়েছে কাজেই এখানে which/that যেকোনো একটা বসবে।
ব্যাক্তি/বস্তুর নাম উল্লেখ রয়েছে এরপর
ফাঁকা ঘর থাকলে, সেই বাক্যগুলো Phrasal হয় না।

– 10
সময়/স্থানের নাম উল্লেখ থাকলে এরপর ফাঁকা
ঘর থাকলে à
সময়
এরপরে গ্যাপ থাকলে – Which/since/while
I’ve been studying a lot since I want to improve my grades.
এখানে
প্রথম ও দ্বিতীয বাক্যে পড়ার সময় উল্লেখ রয়েছে কাজেই এখানে Which/since/while যেকোনো একটা বসবে।
স্থানের
নামের পরে গ্যাপ থাকলে – where
This is the café where we had our first date.
The city where I grew up has changed a lot over the years.
এখানে প্রথম বাক্যে café একটা স্থান
এবং দ্বিতীয বাক্যে city একটা স্থান
এবং এরপরেই ফাকা ঘর রয়েছে কাজেই এখানে where বসবে।
সময়/স্থানের নাম উল্লেখ রয়েছে এরপর ফাঁকা
ঘর থাকলে, সেই বাক্যগুলো Phrasal হয় না।

Clausal Connectors হলে এবং উদাহরণস্বরূপ
বোঝালে à like, for
example, for instance যেকোনো একটি বসাতে হবে।
In
the book fair I bought some books like story book, drama etc.
এখানে,
“বইমেলায় আমি কিছু বই কিনেছি যেমন গল্পের বই, ড্রামা ইত্যাদি” বাক্যে like দ্বারা যেমন
বুঝাচ্ছে, অর্থাৎ উদাহরণ দেয়া হয়েছে গল্পের বই, ড্রামা এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে for example, such as, like যেকোনো একটি বসাতে
পারি।
Phrasal Connectors হলে এবং উদাহরণস্বরূপ
বোঝালে à for
example, such as, like যেকোনো একটি বসাতে হবে।
Many fruits are rich in vitamins, such
as oranges, apples, and bananas.
I enjoy outdoor activities like
hiking, camping, and fishing.
এখানে
বাক্য দুট উদাহরণস্বরূপ বোঝাচ্ছে এবং এগুলো Phrasal কাজেই এখানে for example, such
as, like যেকোনো একটি বসাতে হবে।

– 12
Clausal Connectors হলে এবং প্রকৃতপক্ষে
বোঝালে à In
fact, Really, Truly, certainly, surely ইত্যাদি যেকোনো একটি বসাতে হবে।
She is a talented musician; really,
she plays several instruments beautifully.
Phrasal Connectors হলে এবং প্রকৃতপক্ষে
বোঝালে à actual,
certain ইত্যাদি যেকোনো একটি বসাতে হবে।
The results were certainly
better than we expected.
Type
– 13
Clausal Connectors হলে এবং প্রসঙ্গ বোঝালে
অর্থাৎ একটি বিষয়ে কথা বলতে বলতে এটাকে চেঞ্জ করতে চাইলে à Moreover,
after all, above all অর্থাৎ শেষ কথা বলতে।

Phrasal Connectors হলে এবং প্রসঙ্গ বোঝালে
অর্থাৎ একটি বিষয়ে কথা বলতে বলতে এটাকে চেঞ্জ করতে চাইলে à However
অর্থাৎ সর্বপরি/যাইহোক অর্থাৎ একদম শেষ কথার সামনে।
